Murray County Foundation Sponsors Youth Golf

The Murray County Foundation is collaborating with the Community Education program of Murray County Central School and the Slayton Golf Course Association to sponsor youth golf in the area. The initial effort involves offering beginner golf classes to students in grades 4 through 9. The goals of the program are to provide students with an understanding of the basics of golf and to hopefully provide the participants with an opportunity to enjoy a life long sport. The Slayton Golf course has long been an important public space. A secondary goal of the program is to encourage more people to take advantage of the golf course as a valuable community asset.
