Scholarships

The Murray County Foundation grants several scholarships every year to deserving graduates of Murray County Central High School. Some scholarships are tributes to former teachers at Slayton Schools. Other scholarships are specified for students who have economic, social or cultural challenges in continuing in post-secondary education. All students selected have recognized academic achievements, leadership skills and involvement in the community.

Military Honorarium

The Foundation also awards an honorarium to graduating seniors who have made a decision to serve the country as a member of the military after high school. The military honorarium is also a tribute to Wayne Onken who served as an officer with distinction in the US Army.
